Itinerary

Day 1: ARRIVE SALT LAKE CITY

Today our winter adventure begins. Schedule flights to arrive in Salt Lake City before 1pm. Our tour escort will meet us at the airport to start our "winter wonderland" tour. We'll start by learning where most of the ceremonies for the 2002 Winter Olympics were held in Salt Lake City. We’ll check into our downtown hotel, then join the group for a get-acquainted dinner to meet our fellow passengers. (D)

Day 2: MORMON TABERNACLE CHOIR - WEST YELLOWSTONE

A once in a lifetime opportunity awaits us this morning! Special seating has been arranged for us at Temple Square, where we will have a chance to hear the world famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir's weekly broadcast performance. (Choir's schedule permitting). Then we'll depart the Wasatch Mountains and drive north past the Great Salt Lake, Hill Air Force Base, and Utah's first settlement, Ogden. Soon we will enter Idaho and travel through the potato-producing fields of the Gem State. Continue north to the Island Park Region which is world-famous for its outstanding trout fishing on the Madison and Henry's Fork Rivers. After going over Targhee Pass we will enter Montana and the town of West Yellowstone, the western gate of our nation's first national park. Overnight in West Yellowstone at the Gray Wolf Inn. (B,D)

DAY 3: YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK

This is our day to discover Yellowstone National Park, America's oldest and most famous national park, via private chartered snowcoaches. With our luxury-heated snowcoaches, we'll have a clear view while moving easily across the snow while listening to the insights of an experienced Yellowstone guide. As we tour the park today, we will see some of the landmarks for which Yellowstone is famous. Among these are Firehole Falls, and the world's most famous geyser, Old Faithful. After lunch and plenty of time to witness Old Faithful's dramatic display, continue on south through Yellowstone and on into Grand Teton National Park, where we will see America's youngest and most rugged mountains, the Teton Range. Enjoy the spectacular scenery as we journey to Jackson Hole, where we will spend two nights at the Lexington. (B,D)

DAY 4: JACKSON HOLE - OPTIONS

Enjoy a beautiful winter day in this city at the base of the rugged Teton Mountains. Today we have a choice of two fantastic winter experiences. (#1) - Just a couple miles north of Jackson is the National Elk Refuge, winter home for thousands of these majestic animals. This morning we’ll get a close-up view on our sleigh ride through the Elk Refuge. We will then visit the National Museum of Wildlife Art. With collections of nearly twenty-three hundred works of art, the museum strives to enrich and inspire appreciation of art and humanity's relationship with nature. This afternoon we are free to explore the many shops and restaurants of this fascinating Wild West Town. (#2) - (Optional - Additional charges apply for this snowmobile tour) A treat is in store for you today as you head out for a full day snowmobile tour in the mountains east of Jackson! Our destination is Granite Hot Springs so don't forget to pack your swimsuit. Relaxing in the natural hot spring waters surrounded by snow-covered mountains followed by a delicious BBQ lunch will be an experience to remember. Overnight in Jackson. (B)

DAY 5: OLYMPIC PARK - SALT LAKE CITY

As we leave Jackson this morning, we'll travel through western Wyoming surrounded by silver streams, soaring peaks, and lush meadows. Drive through the rugged Snake River Canyon, stopping in pastoral Starr Valley. Around lunchtime, arrive in Evanston for lunch on our own; Then arrive at Utah Olympic Park near Park City for touring the amazing facility that hosted events for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games and continues to host World Cup events. We will see the Nordic Jumps along with the Bobsled and Luge Track, which is the fastest ice on earth. Overnight back in Salt Lake City. This evening, join the group for a farewell dinner. (B,D)
