Itinerary
Day 1-2: ARRIVE OSAKAArrive Kansai Airport; meet your local English Speaking Guide and transfer to your Osaka hotel by chartered motorcoach; after checking in, a light dinner will be served at your hotel. Overnight Plaza Oskaka Hotel in Osaka. Day 3: OSAKA – NARA - KYOTODepart Osaka and travel to Nara by charter motorcoach for sightseeing; visit Kasuga Taisha and the impressive Todai-ji Temple; lunch on own; in the afternoon, visit the Fushimi Inari Shrine as you travel to Kyoto and check into your hotel for a two night stay; dinner included at a local restaurant. Overnight Hearton Hotel in Kyoto. DAY 4: KYOTOToday enjoy touring of Kyoto; visit Nijo-Castle, Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion), Heian Shinto Shrine and the Nishiki Koji Market for shopping; the afternoon is free to explore on your own or just relax; this evening walk to a local restaurant for a Japanese Yakitori Dinner. DAY 5: HIROSHIMAAfter breakfast, walk to the Kyoto station, board the Shinkansen (bullet train) and depart for Hiroshima; upon arrival, board your motorcoach for sightseeing including the Peace Memorial Park and A-Bomb Dome Museum; in the afternoon, visit the Fude No Sato Calligraphy Museum, where you will receive a lesson and try your hand with this ancient art form; then return to Kyoto by Shinkansen and walk to your hotel; tonight enjoy a fun Korean BBQ style dinner. DAY 6: HAKONE - ATAMIAfter breakfast, walk to the Kyoto Station and board the Shinkansen once again, this time bound for Odawara; upon arrival, board your motorcoach for sightseeing of Hakone National Park; first enjoy a scenic cruise on Lake Ashi, then visit the Owakudani Valley and Mt. Komagatake with it’s rope-way ride; arrive at your hotel in Atami and relax as you experience a traditional Japanese Hot Spring Bath; join the group for a Japanese dinner at your hotel (passengers need to prepare an overnight bag, luggage will be shipped directly to Tokyo hotel). Overnight Hotel Ibeda in Atami. DAY 7: ATAMI – KAMAKURA - TOKYOVisit the MOA Art Museum this morning to enjoy a Tea Ceremony in the beautiful gardens; depart by motorcoach traveling north with a stop in Kamakura for sightseeing; you will see the Great Image of Budda, Komachi Shopping Street and Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shinto Shrine; arrive in Tokyo with a stop for dinner, then check into your hotel for a three night stay. Overnight Atagoyama Tokyo Inn in Tokyo. DAY 8: TOKYOThere will be a very early start to the day as you transfer to the Tsukiji Fish Market to see the morning fish auction; then return to your hotel for breakfast prior to sightseeing of Japan’s Capitol City, Tokyo; sights will include Meiji Shinto Shrine, the Imperial Palace, Asakusa Kannon Temple with its shopping arcade “Nakamise,” and a Sumida River Cruise; in the afternoon, visit the Ginza, one of the busiest streets in Japan with it’s high fashion boutiques and department stores; this evening, you can relax before dinner or enjoy a optional Kabuki performance at the National Kabuki Theater (not included); then join the group for a Japanese “Shabu Shabu” dinner at a local restaurant. DAY 9: NIKKO - TOKYOAfter a leisurely morning, depart your hotel by motorcoach and travel to Nikko for sightseeing; visit the Nikko Toshogu Shinto Shrine, Lake Chuzenji and Kegon Waterfall; return to Tokyo with some free time to relax; then join the group for a farewell dinner. DAY 10: HOMEAfter breakfast, transfer by chartered bus to to Narita Airport and departure for home.
